SDN: Security Friend or Foe

SDN is one of the hottest trends in IT and one of the most important new strategies for meeting the changing demands on IT infrastructure. Its benefits—including agility, support for cloud and big data workloads, and virtualization—are very attractive. However, there are potential SDN-specific vulnerabilities that must be managed. Both plusses and minuses need to be accounted for in an SDN migration strategy and eventual deployment.
