Super Dave to the Rescue: NCSAM and Beyond
Editor’s note: Too often your weakest security link is a human, who we like to call Dave. He’s doesn’t mean to be a threat, he’s just a person going about his day. For National Cybersecurity Awareness month get tips for promoting good security practices with your own employees like him.
As National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) comes to a close, sophisticated threat actors continue to evolve and wreak havoc year-round. Unfortunately, as we learned through our blog series this month, all too often your weakest security link is someone within your team — who throughout NCSAM, we’ve been identifying as “Dave.”
On average, a cyberattack takes place every 39 seconds* and affects one in three Americans. Given the growing threat of cyberattacks, October can’t be the only month where organizations, and their employees like Dave, are hyper-focused on cyber hygiene and increased protection.
As the month wraps, it is imperative that cybersecurity best practices continue to stay top of mind and that organizations learn from their mistakes in order to make more proactive decisions.
To help make cyber hygiene a priority year-round, please visit some of our blogs from this past month for tips on how to implement a strategic security practice:

In addition to the blogs outlined above, we recently launched our security solution, ThreatINSIGHT, our cloud-native network detection and response solution built for the rapid detection of threat activity.
Here at Gigamon, we are constantly working on new and improved solutions to help our customers keep up with the pace of the evolving threat landscape. With ThreatINSIGHT, and some of the resources outlined above, we’re confident organizations will have an improved security posture to bring them into 2020 and beyond. With these tools, Dave, who was once the weakest security link within an organization, can learn from past mistakes and become more cyber savvy than ever before — morphing into Super Dave.
