Partner Spotlight: Outcomex and Gigamon Team Up to Deliver Stunning ROIs

Australia-based Outcomex is an award-winning systems integrator devoted to providing intuitive solutions that help clients build a bridge between their business ambitions and IT infrastructure. Companies have turned to Outcomex since its founding in 2006 to help connect with new technologies and improve their IT environments.

We sat down with Michael van Zoggel, Outcomex managing director, to find out how Outcomex partners with Gigamon to provide best-in-class IT services and solutions that deliver unsurpassed business outcomes.

Gigamon: Who is Outcomex and what is the company history?

Michael: Outcomex is an engineering powerhouse focusing on network, cloud, and cyber integration in the ANZ market. We’ve been a hardcore services partner for several tier-one vendors since our inception in 2006.

Gigamon: What does your company name stand for?

Michael: It’s all about outcomes. When we speak to customers, we begin with the end –– the outcome –– in mind. From there, we push our fantastic people into client engagements, and we deliver.

Gigamon: Describe your company culture. What makes you tick?

Michael: Our company culture is extremely supportive, and our people and engineers are the best of the best, at the top of their game. They work in teams where excellence is expected, and the results speak for themselves. The average tenure is more than four and a half years in our engineering teams. Our culture of empowered, supported, and successful people is alive and well.

Gigamon: When and how did you become a Gigamon partner?

Michael: We’ve been involved with Gigamon in various ways for about five years now. This year, we chose to double down and focus on Gigamon with dedicated resources, as it’s an amazing differentiator for us and an extremely useful tool.

Michael Van Zoggel, Outcomex managing director

Gigamon: If you had to describe Gigamon with just one word, what would it be?

Michael: Three words: Swiss Army knife. Gigamon has so many use cases and capabilities that customers can leverage to reduce TCO (total cost of ownership). It’s a very open and capable platform.

Gigamon: What are some of your market’s specifics, advantages, and challenges when it comes to network security and visibility?

Michael: We build and integrate very large-scale, critical networks for campus, cloud, and hybrid datacenters. The biggest challenges in this are the complexity and cohesiveness required to put together robust programs that cover a lot of ground and protect customers from all facets of cyber risk while allowing flexible network and application access.

Gigamon: Which Gigamon features stand out the most and make the product outstrip its competitors?

Michael: The ability to consolidate and capture data while discarding data that isn’t required. That creates a huge amount of value to customers, as it’s noninvasive but comprehensive.

Gigamon: How do you see Outcomex fitting together with Gigamon to solve your customers’ problems?

Michael: We’re experts in delivering large-scale network security; it makes sense to use the best tools available to drive management and operational outcomes. That’s where Gigamon adds value to our engagements.

Gigamon: Where do you see the trends in network security and visibility in three years’ time?

Michael: We are seeing more movement for specific operational capabilities come out of the datacenter and become consumed via SaaS and cloud-based delivery. This is across both cyber and network management. We’re also seeing the coalescence of tooling to drive management, policy, and quality for both cyber and network assets. It’s more about viewing capabilities, efficiency, and risk management as a single entity rather than a set of platforms or products.

Gigamon: Provide an anecdote that customers share when they talk about our products combined with your products and services.

Michael: Customers love our agility, speed, and high level of engineering skills; we balance the need for highly mature, predictable, and framework-based engineering with an aggressive, enabled, get-it-done attitude.

Gigamon: Do you have a wow moment associated with Gigamon you could share?

Michael: When customers see the ROI they achieve by deploying the Gigamon platform, it’s like Gigamon is the world’s best-kept secret. The outcomes can be stunning.

Gigamon: What are some of the new challenges you see in the market that your partnership with Gigamon can solve?

Michael: There are many; however, the most tangible for me is around cost optimization because of the move to consumption-based billing. By reducing and optimizing the flow of data and traffic, we can leverage Gigamon to significantly reduce the flow, storage, and ultimately the cost of deploying some of these capabilities.

Gigamon: What are the positive business outcomes as a Gigamon partner?

Michael: High revenue deals with highly profitable margins. The platform is unique, the ROI is high, and the value of engagement is also high, both on the front end in terms of revenue and the back end in terms of customer stickiness.

Gigamon: What unique capabilities does this partnership bring to your business?

Michael: Outcomex recognizes that there are smaller, strategic vendors who have unique capabilities and value sets outside of the traditional tier-one vendors. We leverage both unique capabilities and value sets, meaning we have a valuable proposition to bring to our customers who are often seeking out niche technologies to solve niche issues. From a customer perspective, having a serious integration partner like Gigamon representing a niche, focused vendor is very beneficial.

Gigamon: What are some of the benefits of the Gigamon Partner Program that stand out? Trainings? Incentives? Discounts? Co-marketing?

Michael: The ability to work with the business to craft out unique programs and a proprietary go-to-market have made the Gigamon Partner Program quite unique!

Gigamon: Thank you, Michael, for making time for us and for being such a wonderful partner.
