Partner Spotlight: Gigamon and Bynet Data Communications Help Customers Achieve Network Visibility

Israel-based Bynet Data Communications is a trusted partner in building integration solutions for customers. Founded in 1975, the company is Israel’s leading provider of end-to-end integration services, including cloud services, data and cyber security, datacenter solutions, and mobility solutions.

We chatted with Ilan Matsliah, who leads Bynet’s Security and Cyber Division, to learn more about how his team is working with Gigamon to help customers modernize their infrastructure, improve security, move to cloud, and transform their business.

Gigamon: What does your company name stand for?

Ilan: Bynet is derived from the Hebrew word for “wisdom.”

Gigamon: Where does your company do business?

Ilan: Bynet was developed in the Israeli market, but we have partnered with major international companies and manufacturers, and we’ve been responsible for many national projects and significant infrastructures.

Gigamon: When and how did you become a Gigamon partner?

Ilan: Bynet became a Gigamon partner more than six years ago. We were approached by a local Gigamon distributor who had knowledge of the large volume of activity we’ve done in the markets and our ability to maintain first-class professional support for customers.

Gigamon: If you had to describe Gigamon with just one word, what would it be?

Ilan: Access. Gigamon products allow customers to truly access data.

Gigamon: What are some of your market’s specifics, advantages, and challenges when it comes to network security and visibility?

Ilan: There is a large amount of data requiring security solutions, and a network TAP (test access point) is more effective, efficient, and reliable than SPAN (switch port analyzer). A TAP allows organizations to significantly improve their monitoring and information security infrastructures, increase productivity, and make the most of existing tools. The result is a reduction in the time required to achieve success.

Gigamon: Which Gigamon features stand out the most and make the product outstrip its competitors?

Ilan: NetFlow stands out, as it provides network and security teams with visibility into traffic types across systems, including multi-cloud environments. It helps organizations catch denial-of-service attacks, data exfiltration, and other security-related activities.

Gigamon: How do you see Bynet and Gigamon fitting together to solve your customers’ problems?

Ilan: As Israel’s leading information and communications technology (ICT) integrator, we offer a wide range of information and cybersecurity solutions for various sectors and organizations of all sizes, using some of the best professionals in the market. Our experts focus on the smallest details, from the planning and characterization phase through to project implementation, delivery, and service.

Gigamon solutions allow our customers to concentrate on achieving efficient security while providing a visibility advantage down to the smallest details. Arming Bynet’s cybersecurity professionals with Gigamon solutions helps security teams achieve the visibility, agility, and security they need without stretching their network and security resources.

Gigamon: Where do you see the trends in network security and visibility in three years’ time?

Ilan: As computing and data storage shift to the cloud, security concerns have naturally migrated there as well. As a result, concerns need to be addressed regarding the lack of visibility into traffic between public, private, and hybrid clouds. We are also currently seeing the rise of AI and machine learning for applications and network security.

Gigamon: Provide an anecdote that customers share when they talk about our products and your products and services.

Ilan: The move to the cloud has made it difficult for customers to collect and manage data from multiple points, including on-premises, public cloud, and private cloud. Gigamon helps our customers achieve this migration faster and more efficiently so they can analyze data and react accordingly.

Gigamon: What is the most memorable moment associated with Gigamon as a partner?

Ilan: Being recognized as a Platinum partner, as well as regional GSSP Pro.

Gigamon: What are the wow moments associated with Gigamon?

Ilan: One wow moment was when the information systems division of a public sector customer recognized that they needed to purchase Gigamon TAP products because of their superior technology and ability to observe network traffic for analytics purposes.

Gigamon: What are some of the new challenges you see in the market that your partnership with Gigamon can solve?

Ilan: With Gigamon, we can overcome traffic visibility challenges associated within and between public, private, and hybrid clouds.

Gigamon: What are the positive business outcomes as a Gigamon partner?

Ilan: With Gigamon, we can offer our customers a more efficient and better method to implement new technologies and increase visibility. This is an advantage that creates more business for us.

Gigamon: What unique capabilities does this partnership bring to your business?

Ilan: As a Gigamon Platinum partner and GSSP Pro, we are able to secure more customers and better address customer needs. This is a major business advantage for us.

Gigamon: What are some of the benefits of the Gigamon Partner Program that stand out? Trainings? Incentives? Discounts? Co-marketing?

Ilan: The benefits of the Gigamon Partner Program are both financial and non-financial. Gigamon helps us get the greatest value from our partnership, and the complimentary online sales and technical training we have access to helps us succeed.

Gigamon: Thanks, Ilan, for making time for us and for being such a wonderful partner!
