GigaTOUR: A Guide to Securing the Hybrid Cloud with Deep Observability

Hybrid cloud infrastructure is now commonplace in organizations across the world, yet a number of factors are impacting IT teams’ ability to effectively and efficiently secure these environments

Across Europe, the threat landscape is continually evolving and escalating. Recent research by PwC found 38 percent of senior executives in the U.K. expect more serious cyberattacks via the cloud this year, with the fast pace of cloud migration simultaneously expanding the attack surface open to exploitation. In parallel, security leaders are growing increasingly frustrated by tool sprawl, and organizations already under pressure due to the economic climate are struggling to contain spiraling cloud costs.

In this environment, it’s more important than ever that organizations find an integrated solution that can complement, consolidate, optimize, and secure what they already have. This is where deep observability can prove a game-changer.

Join Gigamon at an upcoming GigaTOUR event as we educate customers and partners on how they can realize the full transformational promise of the cloud with deep observability.

Deep Observability

Although “observability” has been around for several years, deep observability crucially goes beyond current monitoring approaches based on metrics, events, logs, and traces (MELT), which traditionally is incomplete and easy to sidestep. By augmenting log-based observability methods with actionable network-derived intelligence, deep observability efficiently delivers this intelligence to cloud, security, and observability tools to eliminate network blind spots and detect previously unseen threats, adding an incremental layer to defense-in-depth security architectures.

In this way, the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline is not just another tool CISOs need to convince their boards to invest in. In fact, as well as eliminating blind spots and reducing threat actors’ ability to dwell undetected, it can also reduce cloud spending by up to 30 percent. Central to this cost containment is optimization: By capturing, filtering, and distributing cloud traffic to tools that need to consume this data, deep observability reduces complexity and the volume of data in motion, ensuring only what is relevant is analyzed. This is now critical for cost-conscious cloud organizations.

GigaTOUR

This year, GigaTOUR events are taking place across the globe, landing next in Europe in June. The biggest event of its kind from Gigamon, GigaTOUR is an opportunity for end users and partners to learn how deep observability can transform hybrid cloud security. Attendees will hear from cloud and network security experts like guest speaker Tope Olufon, senior analyst at Forrester, to gain insights into strategies and best practices for securing and managing hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure.

At the heart of these strategies lies deep observability. By eliminating security and performance blind spots associated with log-based monitoring tools, the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline provides a comprehensive view of complex hybrid cloud networks.

The GigaTOUR events will also feature deep dives into use cases and solutions, demonstrating how deep observability works in action, alongside keynote presentations from Gigamon executives and tech sessions from technology alliance partners, including Dynatrace, LogRhythm, Vectra, Viavi, and Forescout.

GigaTOUR aims to educate both partners and end users on the value of deep observability, helping the technology channel become trusted advisers to vendors, and placing current and future customers in the most advantageous position to better secure and manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure. In a time when cloud costs are spiraling and cloud-based attacks are on the rise, education and enablement for best practices in the hybrid cloud have never been more important.

Sign up for events in June, including London, Paris, Munich, Australia, and Taiwan.
