Partner Spotlight: Gigamon and Vizst Technology Provide Strategic Solutions that Help Customers Win

We spoke with CEO Richard Betts about how his company’s partnership with Gigamon helps deliver solutions that ensure clients meet their lofty ambitions and achieve success.

Gigamon: Who is Vizst Technology and what is the company’s history?

Richard: Vizst Technology is a leading managed service provider across cybersecurity and networking. Vizst was born from the merger of three IT businesses: a Microsoft Gold Partner, an AV integrator, and a cybersecurity and networking company. In the last year, we’ve grown to 45 employees working in our headquarters in Poole, in London, and in our dedicated service provider lab in Newbury, in Berkshire.

Gigamon: What does your company name stand for?

Richard: Trust. We strive to be a trusted technology partner for our customers, supporting them with all elements of their digital transformation journey. We’re not a reseller, we’re a strategic partner, and partnership is at the core of our ethos. We support our customers with technologies and strategies that improve business performance.                      

Gigamon: Describe your company culture. What makes you tick?

Richard: Everything we do is driven by our customers and by our desire to provide the best outcomes. We listen to their challenges and create solutions that solve their problems. Our culture is a testament to our sterling team of experts. We’re fiercely proud of the work we do, delivering everything with honor and passion. We are creative and collaborative, solving problems for our clients through our agile and diverse skill sets and creative thinking.

Gigamon: When and how did you become a Gigamon partner?

We have a long-established partnership with a major U.K. service provider. We initially began working with them on several networking projects, including visibility. Due to the breadth of the Gigamon offering, we decided to become a Gigamon partner and bring Gigamon solutions to the customer’s core U.K. network. We’re extremely proud of this, as it’s the largest Gigamon roll-out across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

Gigamon: If you had to describe Gigamon with just one word, what would it be?

Richard: Proactive.

Gigamon: What are some of your market’s specifics, advantages, and challenges when it comes to network security and visibility? 

Richard: One customer’s requirement to tap into physical and private cloud traffic across the network has been a challenge, but this is something that Gigamon does well and supports us with. Based on what we’re seeing across customers, some of the future challenges and considerations are likely to be the increasing size of private cloud estates and the growing volumes of East-West traffic to tap.

Gigamon: Which Gigamon features stand out the most and make the product outstrip its competitors?

Richard: The 100GB support at the initial deployment with a major Gigamon customer was unique and helpful. Also, the single view of physical and virtual tapping in GigaVUE-FM (private compared to alternative vendors we’ve explored in cloud) is a fantastic feature, enabling us to see configuration and traffic in one place.

Gigamon: How do you see Vizst Technology fit together with Gigamon to solve your customers’ problems?

Richard: Our partnership with Gigamon allows us to offer visibility and action on data flows and to provide end-to-end solutions for our customers. This helps make us a leading provider of networking and cybersecurity technologies and solutions across multiple vendors.

Gigamon: Where do you see the trends in network security and visibility in three years’ time?

Richard: With the continued increase in ransomware threats, cybersecurity is a growing focus across our customers’ executive boards and management teams. With the extensive number of technologies available to defend against these attacks, we’ll see a consolidation of the available security technologies, which will help reduce security gaps. 

Gigamon: Provide an anecdote that customers share when they talk about our products and your products and services.

Richard: We have helped customers design their networks over many years. Our deep knowledge of customers’ networks means that we are the first port of call when it comes to recommending, designing, and deploying any Gigamon solution.

Gigamon: What is the most memorable moment associated with Gigamon as a partner?

Richard: For me, I think it must be jointly providing a proof of concept to demonstrate and convince a customer that we could halve (dedupe) much of the traffic (circa 50 percent) going to probes. The need for expensive probes going forward was effectively halved. The PoC (proof of concept) did exactly what we needed it to and positioned Vizst and Gigamon as a trusted and expert partnership.

Gigamon: What are the wow moments associated with Gigamon?

Richard: Wow moments are when we get into helping solve specific customer issues and requirements, particularly in the Service Provider sector with the requirement for Network Function Virtualization. Being able to take a customer on a journey from initial intrigue to a Gigamon convert is a great feeling.

Gigamon: What are some of the new challenges you see in the market that your partnership with Gigamon can solve?

Richard: Gigamon can help us by providing visibility in private/public/hybrid cloud environments. This is invaluable to both us and our customers.

Gigamon: What are the positive business outcomes as a Gigamon partner?

Richard: Working with Gigamon reinforces our position as a Trusted Partner providing networking and cybersecurity solutions for our customers. The fact that we can provide end-to-end strategic solutions with total data traffic visibility helps define us as a partner of choice. We are one of just three Gigamon Gold partners, and we are on the road to becoming a Platinum partner.

Gigamon: What unique capabilities does this partnership bring to your business?

Richard: Partnering with Gigamon and integrating Gigamon technology gives our customers real control of their data, which goes far beyond tactical point solutions. Again, this goes back to the trusted partnership we build, and the visibility that Gigamon offers supports this. Providing holistic services and solutions helps us remain an integrator of choice.

Gigamon: What are some of the benefits of the Gigamon Partner Program that stand out? Trainings? Incentives? Discounts? Co-marketing?

Richard: I’m sure that each area of our business would provide a different answer, but what stands out for me are the extensive training programs coupled with the internal support for our Gigamon team. Our account management team at Gigamon is dedicated to growing us as a partner, and this is reflected in the resources and support provided for co-branded marketing strategies.
