Gigamon Cloud Suite Is Now Supported on AWS Outposts. Here’s What You Should Know

Tuesdays and tacos. Kirk and Spock. Zoom and sweatpants. Some things are just better together, including Gigamon Cloud Suite™ and AWS Outposts. This new integration arms customers with complete workload traffic visibility across their on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Let’s take a look at how it works.

At a high level, AWS Outposts provides a genuine hybrid experience (and removes the headache of having to juggle a bunch of different vendors and tools) by allowing customers to build and run applications all under one roof. Traditionally, operating in a hybrid environment meant bouncing back and forth between environments and swapping out one tool for another depending on the task. AWS Outposts eases this burden by enabling users to leverage the same APIs and tools across all environments.

By integrating Gigamon Cloud Suite with AWS Outposts, Gigamon customers now have the same functionality and visibility for AWS on-premises as they’ve had for AWS in the public cloud.

This integration also provides the same low-latency network transfer that already exists within the Gigamon AWS solution for on-premises hardware. Gigamon can centralize the solution into AWS Outposts, allowing users to aggregate traffic and then optimize that traffic with supported GigaSMART® apps directly to on-premises tools or physical Gigamon devices.

Why You Can Trust It and How It Benefits You

Gigamon has been working with AWS to bring our customers the most effective visibility solutions on the market, and the latest integration with Outposts is no exception. In addition to validating the entire end-to-end solution to ensure compatibility with both public and hybrid cloud deployments, we also validated these solutions:

  • G-vTAP™
  • VPC Traffic Mirroring
  • Load Balancer

Enterprise IT teams need to secure workloads while modernizing applications into hybrid environments. To that extent, Gigamon and Outposts integration helps achieve it all while keeping the on-premises tooling ecosystem intact. Through Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline, we’re able to track network data from known and unknown devices, enriching and contextualizing network traffic with the Gigamon Application Intelligence and ThreatINSIGHT™ tools.

“We are modernizing our customers’ environments at the edge, on-premises, and in the cloud, and the consistent experience that AWS Outposts brings to solutions is key to enabling digitization regardless of where the data lives,” said Raphael Meyerowitz, VP, Technology Solutions and Strategic Partnerships at Presidio.  “It will be great to add Gigamon Hawk cloud solutions to their choices for deployment. The combination will allow our customers to continue to use their existing network performance and security tools across their hybrid-cloud environment while also modernizing on-premises workloads with AWS services.”
