Partner Spotlight: Gigamon and The Teneo Group Help Customers with Their Changing Needs

The Teneo Group’s motto is “we exist to secure your network.” Founded in 2007 by a CISO from the financial industry, the engineering firm specializes in cybersecurity and provides services to a wide variety of organizations, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local governments.

John Warnagiris, Senior Vice President of Operations at The Teneo Group, told us, “We are very protective of our line card, only adding companies we consider to be best of breed and that fill a need for our customers. After doing our internal research, we added Gigamon to that list in the first quarter of 2020.” It’s proven to be a fruitful partnership: The Teneo Group attained its Gigamon Partner Silver status in record time.

We sat down with John for a Q&A to find out why Gigamon became so important to his company’s business.

Gigamon: What are some of your customers’ needs when it comes to network security and visibility — and why is Gigamon your choice to help meet them?

John: Our clients need consolidated visibility into all of their tools, and Gigamon is the gold standard for visibility architecture. Gigamon is always willing to adapt to the evolving technology needs of our customer base, as they’ve done with their advances in cloud visibility and SSL decryption, for instance. Delivering complete SSL decryption for cybersecurity tools is one of the biggest new challenges in the market today, and that’s a problem Gigamon can now solve for us.

Gigamon: What is the most memorable moment associated with Gigamon as a partner?

John: There’s nothing like the first time! I remember really impressing the CISO at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum with the capabilities of Gigamon ThreatINSIGHT™ Guided-SaaS Network Detection and Response. This platform beautifully complements what we do as a security managed-services provider.

Gigamon: What are some of the positive business outcomes you’ve experienced as a Gigamon partner?

John: Together with Gigamon, The Teneo Group is able to deliver infrastructure visibility to complement our strong cybersecurity offerings. Partnering with Gigamon lets us deliver an optimized and secure infrastructure to our customers.

One of the best things about this partnership has been working with the Gigamon team to integrate Gigamon products into our own offerings. If I had to describe Gigamon in one word, it would be “responsive.”

With the help of the Gigamon team, we were able to immediately get account executives and engineers trained on the Gigamon portfolio. They helped us learn the messaging, which quickly led to new channel-led opportunities, one of which was with a local public sector customer for a solution that included the Gigamon Visibility and Analytics Fabric™.

Gigamon: What unique capabilities does this partnership bring to your business?

John: The platform-based visibility Gigamon delivers lets us use our expertise in the cyber space to expand value and bridge the gap between network and security operations. The partnership with Gigamon extends our engineering expertise into network operations, which is complementary to our security solution deliverables.

Gigamon helps us expand our demand generation capabilities with features like the Gigamon ROI Calculator, which focuses on how The Teneo Group and Gigamon can help a customer optimize their network security.

In addition, Gigamon marketing puts the channel front and center and offers personalized links that we can use to update our clients via technical email campaigns. And Gigamon’s generous marketing development fund program allows us to mutually invest funds to grow business. Gigamon is channel first, and we appreciate that.

Gigamon: Where do you see the trends in network security and visibility in three years’ time?

John: Visibility is only going to get more important. Every organization is going to want even more consolidated visibility into their entire infrastructure — cloud, network, endpoint, mobile, encrypted traffic, IoT, you name it.

Gigamon: Thank you, John, for making time for us and for being such a wonderful partner.
