Gigamon Integrates Deep Observability Pipeline with AWS Gateway Load Balancer to Seamlessly Manage Virtual Appliances

Expanded integration enables enterprises to monitor network traffic workloads running across VPCs and AWS accounts into a centralized shared services model to increase network availability.

Gigamon, the leading deep observability company, today announced integration of AWS Gateway Load Balancer (GWLB) Endpoints as a target for traffic mirroring with Gigamon Hawk, the industry’s first deep observability pipeline for all data in motion across the hybrid cloud. With this latest integration, AWS is minimizing the operational overhead associated with deploying and managing virtual appliances used to consume mirrored traffic.

With GWLB Endpoint as a target, mirrored traffic can be forwarded from any subnet, AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), or account in a highly scalable and operationally efficient manner to a GigaVUE® Cloud Suite V Series node via GWLB Endpoints deployed in customers’ subnets containing their workloads (see Design Topology below). Mutual enterprise customers can now simplify how they monitor network traffic across multiple VPCs and accounts, with centralized traffic inspection in a single VPC across their entire organization. Furthermore, Gigamon deep observability pipeline customers can enrich mirrored traffic with actionable network-level intelligence and share it with their tooling vendors in a centralized manner to obtain deep observability across the entire application stack.

The Gigamon Hawk Deep Observability Pipeline harnesses actionable network-level intelligence to amplify the power of cloud, security, and observability tools. This powerful combination enables IT organizations to assure security and compliance governance, speed root-cause analysis of performance bottlenecks, and lower operational overhead associated with managing hybrid and multi-cloud IT infrastructures. As a result, modern enterprises are able to realize the full transformational promise of the cloud. Support for Cloud Suite integration with GWLB target will be available soon in future releases.
